RAMP

George Mason University is implementing an integrated research web-based system, RAMP, to support Mason’s growing research enterprise. This system will reduce duplication of efforts and better support faculty. It allows capture of research related data in one system improving reporting and data driven decision making. RAMP will help improve compliance with sponsor regulations and requirements through streamlined workflow and an automated reminder system.

RAMP Modules

Grants and Agreements

The Grants and Agreements modules went live on July 11, 2022. The Grants and Agreements modules streamline the pre-award and post-award process through automation of proposal submission, award and agreement management, system-to-system submissions, integrated compliance, etc.

Conflict of Interest (COI)/Conflict of Commitment (COC)

The Conflict of Interest (COI)/Conflict of Commitment (COC) module went live on May 8, 2023. The COI/COC module centralizes financial interest and outside activity disclosures to streamline the reporting process for disclosers and increase institutional compliance.

Safety

The Safety module went live on October 9, 2023. The Safety module improves collaboration between investigators, safety staff, safety officers, and committee members through all safety activities from new protocols to amendments to continuing reviews.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) went live on July 29, 2024. The IRB module improves collaboration between investigators, IRB staff, and committee members through all IRB activities from new protocols to amendments.

Payroll Certification

The Payroll Certification (Effort Reporting) kick-off occurred April 23, 2024. The Payroll Certification module uses a standardized workflow to foster consistent practices across the institution and establishes common metrics to improve monitoring and reporting capabilities.​

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) kick-off occurred June 17, 2024. The IACUC module improves collaboration between investigators, IACUC staff, and committee members through all IACUC activities from new protocols to amendments.
