RAMP Objectives 

The project will follow a standard phased approach and methodology to ensure a successful system implementation. The implementation objectives include:

  • Deploying software to support research administration with limited customizations​ 
  • Leverage best practices delivered within software and maintain upgrade path​ 
  • Aligning business processes to new system as much as possible
  • Limiting long-term cost of ownership

Transformation Approach and Elements

Mason is transforming research support and infrastructure by moving towards an integrated model with clear governance, an experienced and reliable workforce, robust technology solutions and efficient business processes.  This is a dynamic environment and will continue to evolve.

RAMP Implementation Timeline

The RAMP modules will be implemented over two and a half years starting with the Grants and Agreements modules which went live on July 11, 2022. The timeline may shift to accommodate priorities and needs of the research community.

Current Status/Upcoming Events

Payroll Certification (Effort Reporting): The Payroll Certification module kicked off on April 23, 2024 and is in the Onboarding Phase.

Upgrade: Grants, Agreements, and Conflict of Interest (COI) was upgraded to the newest Version 10.5 in early April 2024. Note: The RAMP Safety module was already implemented on Version 10.5 and did not require the upgrade.

IRB: The IRB module kicked off on October 17, 2023 and is in the Iterations Phase.

Safety: The Safety module is live and in the Support Phase. A support team is available to assist with this module.

COI: The COI module is live and in the Support Phase. A support team is available to assist with this module.

Grants & Agreements: The Grants & Agreements module is live and in the Support Phase. A support team is available to assist with these modules.
